It was your fault. Sucks, but you did indeed do it. But the fact that you not only deleted them, but emptied the trash is astounding. I've accidentally formatted the wrong drive before (goodbye backup!) which was pretty lousy. The windows installer used different drive letters in DOS so I deleted the letter that I was used to having, only realizing instantly later that the drive sizes did not match the letter. Still my fault.
