Today, I asked a coworker if she would cover for me on Easter because I want to spend it with my 3 year old daughter. She said no because she wants to spend Easter with her kids, too. She doesn't have kids. FML

Why is it that people with kids think that they are the only ones entitled to have a holiday???? So because you have a kids you get the day off and she has to work. Guess what....she is someones kid too and Im sure they want to spend time with her too. Get over yourself.

it is not the responsibility of people without kids to cover for those who choose to have them. people without kids are entitled to have long weekends and holidays too...

I asked my coworker to do something for me purely because my lifestyle is better than hers, and she disagrees FML.

Just because you have children doesn't give you the right to have every ******* holiday off. Good for her for not caving to you! Just because she doesn't have kids doesn't mean she's less deserving of time off. YDI for being a stupid bitch.

Why is everyone assuming that OP's problem is that the shift wasn't covered? It may not be the best outcome, but it's not the end of the world. However; "She doesn't have kids". OP is clearly, and rightly, pissed off that their co-worker lied. I agree OP; your life sucks. If someone said to me "Sorry, I can't do it", I'd be fine with that, as (as just about every other commenter hasn't failed to pint out) people without kids have lives too. But if someone told a blatant lie to me, just so that they could avoid working, damn right I'd be pissed off! Some people need to learn a bit of respect.
