If a kid is old enough to throw a punch, they are old enough to get a spanking. It's not abuse (because some of you bleeding heart ******* will say it is, and YOU are what's wrong with kids these days), it's dicipline. You just have to draw the line between spanking & beating, and never cross it.

A kid his age knows he's not supposed to hit. For your own sake and the sake of society, put your rotten kid in his place. We have far too many little a*holes like that running around doing what they want making their parents their b*tch. It's not evil or abuse, it's teaching them to be decent.
