Today, I asked my girlfriend to marry me. She said no because she doesn't want to be tied down for the rest of her life. We already have 3 children, a mortgage, and joint bank accounts. How much more tied down could we possibly get? FML

With 3 kids, a house, and joint bank accounts...aren't you practically married anyway? Marriage is nothing but a piece of paper, it sounds like you already have committed to each other for life, or at least until your kids are grown.

l9ok at it this way. at this point youre common law, and if you break up seperate ect, no alamony, not divorce, ect. not to memtion living as a non married couple you guys get a lot more tax breaks.
