YDI for being gay
Sorry that you got mistaken for a guy OP, but if you're butch or andro looking, then it's going to happen. Don't change who you are or how you look - but don't expect people to automatically know up front that you're female. Just remember that it's not your fault - or theirs. You should have just told her, "I know, that's why I asked you out." and give her a minute to figure it out.
I know that kind of comment stings (I've been on the receiving end of similar statements), don't let it doubt who you are for a second OP! You keep being you, and don't be afraid to ask people out if you fancy them. You will be surprised at how many people will see how awesome you are and will gladly accept your invitation. :)
Are you bisexual by any chance? I've recently discovered that quite a lot of lesbians (not all!!) can be quite prejudiced towards bisexuals, and won't date them because they think of them as "greedy" and are worried that they'll run off to be with a man (very flawed logic, but there you go). Of course, she might have just mistaken you for a man I guess.
I'm confused
OP is a girl and asked out another girl. This girl then rejected her, using "I'm a lesbian" (or something along those lines) as her reason why. This doesn't make sense, as OP is also a girl.
Are you sure she didn't say " I'm not a lesbian"?
Sorry hun. Totally cliche, but there are plenty of fish in the sea. You'll find someone who is right for you! :*
I guess you're and ugly dike!
I'm a lesbian and #1's comment made me giggle. Also, that sucks OP, I've been there too.
Chin up! Still plenty of fish in the sea.

Don't worry, she probably just uses that excuse on guys a lot and has been accustomed to do that after being asked out
I think I would've rather read "FIRST".
