I can't believe people are mad at the OP for having certain standards in who he dates; obviously everyone has a limit to what they can accept about a potential mate. The fact was they were compatible on the level of acceptable habits to each other, which were established at the beginning of the relationship. It was a cowardly way to make the OP break up by changing an established facet about herself that she knew the OP could not accept, nor should he. OP, no worries, her loss not yours.

No idea why people are calling you judgmental, its not like you got with a smoker and then demanded they change in order to keep you. I wouldnt let someone I'm newly dating make my house, clothes, hair and personal belongings stink with their disgusting habit, its exactly the same as someone who doesn't shower or keeps their house like a hoarder in my opinion, why would you choose to smell bad? I also am not going to let their habit irritate my asthma/sinus conditions, or give my animals breathing problems especially since I have a bird and their respiratory systems are extremely sensitive. Sucks that she was too much of a pansy to break up with you and would rather take up a dangerous habit than have an adult conversation but I would say you dodged a bullet.
