I don't really think it has anything to to with the OP being really concerned about her weight. She probably wouldn't have really thought about it hadn't she seen the girlfriend. If you are concerned about that, lose the weight. If not, OP, be happy and confident in yourself despite what you do. I also don't think it's because "you cheat with someone that looks better than what you have" as I've seen in some of these comments about his "upgrading". That's not always true. I'm not a little girl (I'm a US size 10 and slowly coming down), and I can be prone to the occasional bout of self-depreciation, but when my ex cheated on me, he found some REALLY ugly broad. He didn't cheat on me because of my size (he cheated because I wouldn't let him pop my cherry during our 6 month relationship), but I just used him as an example of sometimes it's not an "upgrade".

a person at size 16 can still be healthy if they eat right and exercise. not everyone has the same body type or carries weight the same way. I highly doubt anyone with an extreme hourglass figure could fit into anything below a size 12 (us). Marilyn Monroe was a size 12 ( uk size 16). she just had a large bust, tiny waist, and wide hips.

can I also point out that uk size 16 is the national average... I know some ridiculously sexy and attractive size 16 women. I know no sexy size 6 women, they're all bone.
