Well at least you know now. I once suspected my boyfriend was seeing his ex. He'd denied it when I asked, so the next time I took a punt and told him he'd been seen in public holding her hand. He then tried to make excuses. It's amazing what people will admit to if they think they've really been caught.
bullshit that is was a prank.. you just wanted to know if she was

Show it anywayToday, my boyfriend tried to prank me saying he knows I am cheating on him. I played along and apologized. Now he won't believe me. FML.
Don't listen to these morons saying you deserved it. It's rude to prank someone like that, but a rude prank doesn't mean that you deserved retroactively to get cheated on. That's just an absurd thing to say. Well, wash your hands of her, let her go, never take her back, and good luck in your future endeavors. And if she ever says, "Cheating on you was the worst mistake of my life!" just reply how I did when it happened to me. "You're damn right it was."
Just out of curiosity, what was the point of the prank supposed to be? You accuse your girlfriend of cheating on you (assuming she isn't doing so in reality), and then what? She probably gets defensive and hurt that you would believe that of her, and likely angry that you won't take her word for it if you keep pressing the matter. Maybe she'll doubt the strength of the relationship because there doesn't seem to be any trust. Sounds... funny?

The prank idea was stupid, but still FYL. Being an idiot doesn't mean you deserved that.
I don't agree with the other people that it was a horrible prank. Maybe not the most original or funny one, but you got lucky stumbling across the truth that she obviously wasn't going to tell you. Kudos man ?
