Today, I checked the facebook event page that I had set up for my 21st birthday at an awesome restaurant/bar which I had set up a week ago. Out of 39 invitees, the only person who said yes is my boyfriend. FML

Facebook is not an acceptable way of personally inviting people to an important event.

um, well at least your boyfriend is coming :)

Maybe someone has said this but what of your friends' schedules? Just because you're having a party doesn't mean they have to ditch work and their plans if they already made them to come to a party. A little consideration from you would be nice.

I think YDI for using Facebook to invite people to an event like that. You should send real invitations, or call people and ask them. It's much more personable, and people would be more likely to say yes.

I read once that they best way to invite people is to send out invites trhu the regular mail. It causes a sense of importance, because you took the time to hand write and address the invites. I did that, and I had everyone rsvp, and only 2 people didn't show. GOOD LUCK!

What would have been worse would be if your boyfriend was the only one who *didn't* say yes.
