Today, I confessed my feelings to the girl I've been in love with for three years. Her response was to well up, start crying, and ask me why I had to have chosen her. FML

Tell her she is so special, she is the only one worthy :D...or the truth as to why you seek her.

Dump her. Doesn't matter, had sex. You can do better. Aw, I'm sorry. Bitches be crazy. That sucks. There, now that I've gotten those stupid comments out of the way, there's no excuse to repeat ANY of them.

I don't understand all of the vitriol aimed at the girl. Perhaps she didn't mean any ill-intent behind her reaction, just that she was overwhelmed or blindsided that someone would confess to her or thought that he deserved someone other than her. I've done that to guys (minus the crying) and it wasn't because I wasn't into him; I honestly felt that he could have done much better than me and questioned why would he pick me instead of a smarter, prettier, thinner girl. Try talking to her, OP. Try to figure out why she acted as she did instead of taking the L and going home rejected.

Sometimes it's better to feel that no one loves you. When some useless piece of shit you've been rejecting for three years professes his love for you,it ruins that delicious misery.

Jesus Christ what the f*** are wrong with females these days?!

Maybe she was just happy. Don't automatically assume it was said in a negative way.

Something about the sentence ending with "FML" tells me was, though.

Perhaps she has come to see OP as a brother after 3 years of thinking he wasn't interested and is just terribly sad that their relationship will be ruined by the fact OP has other sorts of feelings for her. I had my share of this sort of situation, and it sucks very badly, specially because of people like some of the people in these comments, that simply assume that the girl has the obligation of wanting to date any guy who falls in love with them, and can't see how it always sucks to *both* people involved. Rejecting others is terrible, even strangers, let alone someone you really care about, but just don't want to date.

One question - did she even know who you were?
