Today, I couldn't sleep due to an awful head cold, so I stayed home from work. Apparently, the local high school marching band practices in the park across the street at 9am. They're doing the Imperial March music from Star Wars. They suck. FML

All I can think is "The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am"

Aww, I'm sorry to hear about that. Although as a marching band member, I'm also sad to hear that someone has given you a bad impression about marching bands. GOOD ONES DO EXIST!!

On behalf of all marching band nerds out there, I apologize. Not all bands pick such annoying music and/or stink so bad when playing it.

even Luke's father would be embarrassed by how awful they sounded ..sigh.. condoms Darth.. condoms...

Download a metronome app and plug it in to a loud speaker or amp. Set it at a random tempo, turn it all the way up, and watch struggle to play together. Trust me, I'm in band and when two tempos are going, it's horrible.

To pretty much everyone on here, please stop being rude. I am a band member and I know how it feels to be on their side. This is the beginning on the season for them and it could be a new piece that none of them have played. Even the best musicians can't look at a piece of music and snap they have it 100% correct the first couple times no matter how widely known it is. High school band is not about sounding like career band members. its about learning the last couple things about your instrument and having fun so please leave them alone and let them practice. They will get better.

I so know your pain OP. I live behind a school that has the band go up and down streets in the neighborhood playing the same damn songs every year and they just get worse every year. It should be qualified as disturbing the peace.
