This is why you hire someone to do it. I'd rather spend $100 and let someone else do it than spend a few hours doing it myself and risk getting maimed. Not to mention the fact that your medical bills will cost a lot more than that $100.
ouch ouch ouchhhh. hope u feel better soon.
+1 to everyone saying YDI for not getting a professional. It would've saved you an ugly scar and a pile of medical bills. If you really are too cheap to hire someone who actually knows what he does, visit Google and see what you need before undertaking something like this. Professionals know where the tree will fall if they cut it a certain way, they know how to cut it correctly and they protect themselves. Both my grandfather and father were professional loggers. I've heard several stories of people who just took a chainsaw/axe and thought they could handle cutting down a tree without even wearing protective gear, who ended up either severely wounded in the hospital, or dead.
Jesus, #148 & 149, NO ONE expects to get hit by a tree.
double post
HA this happened to my grandpa. We bought him a pair of bright orange chain saw pants (they stop the chainsaw's blades from moving) and told him to just aim for the legs. Yeah, you should have considered this before you cut down a tree by yourself. Help would have been nice...
#117: Based on the way this happened, including what people have been saying about the chainsaw and protective trousers, he does not sound like a professional. It is unlikely that a single tree will hit an experienced tree feller. YDI may be too strong, I would say it could have been prevented and it's unfortunate what happened.
my goodness. get well soon ! (worst fml ever)
