Today, I cut down a dead tree in my yard. The top hit the ground and the base seesawed up in the air and came down on my head. I hit the ground like a sack of flour. Fortunately, the wood was rotted and soft. Unfortunately, the chainsaw was still running. 28 stitches in my calf. FML

Today, I got into a fight with a lawnmower after walking backwards to pull around/avoid running over a root, and I tripped over a sitting log by our campfire and broke three of my toes (thankfully, a log half blocked the blades) so now I'm on crutches and need to wear a boot for 6-8 weeks, and I'm banned from mowing for the year. FML

Today, I was at Home Depot getting a Christmas tree with my family. While picking out a tree, a man thought it would be nice to help cut off the string that held the tree together. The branches hit me in the face and the guy managed to cut my hand. FML

Today, my father was pruning the tree in our front yard. I was helping him collect the falling branches. At one point, a branch fell and I was under it. My father jumped to push me out of the way. Instead he pushed the branch into my face. FML

In no way would I say you deserved to have your leg cut like that, but it sounds like it was your own damn fault. Chainsaws are dangerous and should be respected. Proper tree cutting procedure probably would have prevented the tree from hitting you in the head like that. Even if getting hit in the head could not have been avoided, had you been wearing a helmet you may not have been knocked out, and had you been wearing chaps your leg would not have been cut or at least not cut so bad. Even a small amount of common sense and caution could have prevented this. Next time invest in some safety equipment and learn how to cut down a tree the right way, or call the professionals.
