Today, I'd just finished feeding my parrot and sweeping all the seeds under the cage. As I was walking away, my parrot whistled. I turned around to see him get up onto the food dish, pick up a clawful of food and toss it on the floor. FML

Parrots do that all the time. They want attention, or something. Just teach it some heavy metal covers of ABBA songs.

YDI, that's what birds do! If you didn't know that before you got a bird then you probably shouldn't have gotten one.

Smart bird :D he only does it vecause it wants you around him/her :)

My husbands asshole African Grey does the same...just without the whistling..and then barks at you (yes, BARKS) when you go to clean up the mess. *sigh*

The bird is entertaining itself at your expense, but you already know that.. Spend time with him, bring him treats, teach him things. Then he won't feel so ignored. Parrots live in flocks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so having to sit in a cage sucks. Especially when they want to use their brain power.
