Today, I emotionally confessed to the guy I like. His English isn't that good, so he asked me to repeat it several times. He ended up telling me no. FML

with all the facilities they offer these days such as apps and voice translators by Google, you chose to confront him in English? upgrade please.

Honestly if she can't communicate with him without the need of a translator, I don't think the relationship would've lasted anyways .

And also google translate is pretty terrible. Especially the Korean one.

I'm guessing English isn't the language of love

As much as it sucks, you're better off knowing sooner as opposed to later because that would just hurt even worse. Head up, OP!

Aw, that's too bad. Korean guys are great!

It's may sound funny to him for woman asking him out as his not American , because most of countries don't know that woman can ask men out

Couldn't use a translator app on your phone? Or google translate on a PC beforehand?

coming from the one who say his English isn't good... it's well you're a hypocrite

Why would you want to be in a relationship with someone you have trouble communicating with?

Because you think carefully about what you have to say, whether it's worth saying it, and words are not wasted as you make the effort to only say that which matters. It will be difficult but a lot more meaningful and conscientious; a lot better than some relationships where all you do is talk but there is no real communication and meaning is lost in the overload of information. Also pets can't talk but they are rad.

You don't need to fluently speak the same language to be able to feel that you have a lot in common. Language skills can always improve during the relationship. I dated a French guy for years, my French was rubbish back when we met but we hit it off great on so many levels, it sure wasn't easy at first to try and communicate about serious stuff, but we made it work. The relationship didn't last because of reasons entirely unrelated to language, but hey, at least I speak French fluently now. ;)
