People can't talk about their feelings in the UK? I don't know, try France or somewhere.

Go to a doctor. Tell them you're depressed. They get you to fill out a questionnaire. The higher you score, the more meds you get. No problems talked about. One of the few plus sides to the NHS

This FML is ridiculous. One of the worst FML's I've ever read.

Shut up. I'm British and you CAN speak to ANYONE. That is the STUPIDEST excuse I've ever heard. I'm sorry you're depressed but you need to grow a pair.

I'm British depressed and talk to everyone who will listen so basically anyone I know xx

I am generally jealous of all britians in most areas, but having to keep it all in is so unhealthy. I feel bad for you :)

I might get down voted but: Can anyone explain this?

They have unspoken social rules (peer pressure), as in any country that dictates thier behaviour and what is an appropriate conversation topic and (In specific relation to this FML) how vocal they can be about thier personal issues without coming off as a big pansy. ;) You will note that Op is also male.
