Today, I finally got the wedding dress I've been waiting months to see. It turns out that my mom ordered the dress 2 sizes smaller than my size, this way it will be "an incentive to lose weight". FML

As long as you don't hold your 4 year old, I heard they've been unclipping dresses at weddings lately...

Well it is an incentive now isn't it?!

Why are there so many FML stories about moms being bitches today?

First of all, the whole issue with the size sucks. No matter what size you are, it should be your decision whether you want to lose weight or not for your wedding day. But ultimately I am going to go with YDI because who leaves the ordering of something so important to somebody else? At least not without checking back with the store to make sure there were no mistakes?

because ordinarily you can't trust your own mother right?

Obviosly shes trying to give you an incentive to lose some weight. Just sayinn.

either way it's a win. if u feel like losing the weight: congrats. if u don't: slap ur momma in the face! or both works. Yeahh...both. :D

It wouldn't be so bad if the OP's mother wasn't also feeding her excessive amounts of butter and oil so she'd be the fatter one. There is just no pleasing that woman.

ydi if you're old enough to be getting married, you're old enough to fill out your own order forms! are you sure you didn't mean "quince" dress, because there's no way you're mature enough for marriage.

Often parents offer to do things like paperwork to help ease the stress of organising such a big thing. Are you married? If you are I'm sure you understand how much work goes into a wedding. If my mum offered to deal with the order forms for my dress I'd let her!
