Today, I finally realized why my 9-week-old puppy was going to the bathroom so much. I went to pick up the food bag and realized she had chewed a hole in the bottom, and eaten half of the bag in the last 4 days. Goodbye 30 pounds of dog food, and 100$ for a vet visit. FML

and that's how clifford the big red dog was created

Trust me, pet food & treats are safest in plastic/resealable containers. Learned this one when we discovered the dachshund could open both fold-over and standard resealable bags.

Keep the bag out of a dog's reach. Always.

And that's why you keep the food bag out of reach of the 9 week old puppy. YDI for not paying closer attention. You're lucky it didn't chew through something deadly.

This is a given for dog owners, I put my dog food in a large container they can't chew thru. Also, don't be the owner that only feeds them dry food their whole life. Get them wet food too, just know the pros and cons. Be a smart dog owner.

u need to put the food somewhere the puppy can't get it. I have a 7 year old dog that will get into her food every chance she gets. she also gets into our other dogs food when we aren't home

Well, I'm assuming you were feeding her in those past four days, so how did you not notice this hole??
