Today, I found my long lost diary and curiously read it. What's worse than finding out that your mother read your diary? Finding out that your mother wrote comments in it. FML

Eh, it isn't a great thing for a mother to do, but you live/lived in her house, so she's pretty much entitled to destroying your privacy. My parents did the same thing, hence why I never kept diaries.

Yeah, not so much. So because I live in a certain county, that county can barge into my house? What about city? Country?

#50, I don't think you get what #37 was talking about.

That's ridiculous. Living with parents doesn't eliminate one's right to privacy. People who live with their parents are still people with the same human rights as anyone else.

#37: It's called a search warrant. #77: I didn't say I agreed with the mom... that's just how some parents operate. And what exactly can the OP do about it?

#37: It's called a search warrant. Hey, I never said I agreed with the mom. That's just how some parents operate. Plus, what can the OP do about it now?

why do ppl keep diarys its just asking for trouble and spilling all ur inner most personal thoughts

it's so they don't emotionally explode. lol i keep one for when i really need it. i had problems as a kid because my parents had fights that even brought police and would put me in the middle of them so i was emotionally overwhelmed and would want to cry. but my mom would get mad if i cried because she felt that i didn't have a reason, and so i would write down my feelings or express them through art so i don't go insane, and also because of my childhood i'm not open with my emotions, so diaries are helpful with that too. it works

How long ago are we talking here? I have a diary somewhere from when I was 7 and if my mom found it, read it, and put comments in then that would be amazing. But if we're talking Jr. High and HS then that's plain ol' embarrassing. Maybe you should start commenting on the grocery lists on the fridge or find her diary from HS (she probably has it somewhere) and make up your own comments for her. But FYL because having your privacy invaded bites the big one.

@ 7 this fml isnt confusing it makes perfect sense

Not an FML until we see some of the comments. You: I finally gave my bf of three months a ********. It was awesome. Mom: I ****** him two weeks earlier. Worthless piece of shit. Worse than your ******* dad! Now THAT would make it an FML!

oh god I know how this feels. In grade 10 I went home to find my diary empty of all pages except for one where my mother had written, " is this what I send you to school for?? foul language and boys???" I am now 22 and I have never found out where my diary went. FML.

Did your mother never go to a public school in her life? I thought that kind of stuff was pretty universal.

that's .....gaaaaaah making me angry
