Dioxin01 tells us more.
Hey everyone, This happened while I was driving in the United States. Also if I hadn't helped him, there would be no chance of him being alive today.

this goes to show that no good deed ever goes unpunished. that's why i'm oblivious, apathetic and indifferent to such accidents and mind my own business. today, we live in a litigious society. i say, you should have just left him to die. bastard!
first rule: scream loudly DO YOU NEED HELP before touching them. if they aren't coherent or say yea you'd be in the clear
good Samaritan law. you can't he found guilty.
What a cocksucker.
Depending on the jurisdiction and the situation of the 'rescue', you certainly MAY be liable. In many jurisdictions (I don't know anything about Canada), 'imminent peril' is required for the 'Good Samaritan' laws to kick in. If he was trapped in the car, but there was no fire, no severe bleeding, no danger of a second collision -- in other words, no reason to immediately pull the victim out -- you may still be liable, and you ought to be. There's a reason you're not supposed to move people directly after a possible spinal incident, as you can injure them if you don't know what you're doing.
sadly in america he will most likly win. one of the few things i hate about usa
Good thing OP's not in the USA, then…
