Maybe his mom just got close to his ex OP. Doesn't mean she likes her more, or even wants her with her son. To me it just sort of sounds like him and his ex were together for a while, and the mom finally had a girl around the house to get close to. Either way, you have him now, and he's not with his ex for a reason. Try your best to let it go, and work on building a better bond with his mom, if it continues to bother you.
