Today, I found out my dad spent most of the $500 I earned from mowing lawns on an Xbox 360 for himself. He was the one who encouraged me to put the money in the bank for college and to learn responsibility. I'm 14 years old. He's 37. FML

See if it's possible to locate the receipt and return it. Otherwise, sell it and pocket the money.

I've seen a shitload of suggestions to OP to steal it back, kick his dad in the nuts, etc... Think about this: if his dad is that ****** up to steal his money, what's he going to do to his son if the boy tries to retaliate NOW? He'd probably put the kid's head through a wall! My advice? Wait a few years til you're bigger and stronger, then take that x-box and smash it over his head until it breaks or his skull does! Revenge is a dish best served cold!

Smash his Xbox or make it seem like it was stolen, then pawn it.

be responsible just like how he wants you too be. take the xbox back to wherever he bought it and return it for cash, then go to a bank and open a savings account.

go pawn his golf clubs and tell him you're even.

when he isn't home, get a ride to the nearest gamestop, sell it, and hide the money in a VERY secret and secure place. you won't get the full $500 but it will certainly be more than $0! good luck!

Most parents don't demonstrate by example, though.
