I had the same thought . . . his wording seems to imply that they were dating, but the entire scenario seems to make more sense if 1. they weren't dating yet (which would explain why he wasn't wondering where she was) or 2. she was severely intoxicated and was taken advantage of. No doubt, some people are awful and will not only cheat, but cheat in really malicious and callous ways. But, unless he did something pretty nasty that she was seeking revenge for, the interpretation that she went to a party with her boyfriend and consciously chose to go have sex with three other men while her boyfriend stood daftly around and had no idea until (what sounds like) at minimum, a few days later . . . just seems unlikely.

188, that's not what he's saying. I agree with 147. The fact that he didn't notice his girlfriend was gone AND that she consciously chose to have sex with 3 different guys at a party makes the whole scenario seem a little impossible, assuming they were dating at the time.

Then why mention revenge? I can't help but wonder if the story would be as doubted had OP been a girl in the same situation. It seems equally as unlikely to me that anyone would do this, male or female. Maybe that's Rugby's point, but his wording doesn't suggest it to me.

That was my point. It seems unlikely for ANYONE to do this and for the circumstances to play out as they did. I mean, imagine it: you've gone to a party (presumably a pretty large party) with your significant other--who you have no qualms or quarrels with. You wander off, and your significant other is obviously distracted to some extent, which means that they probably have friends there. You 1. go into a room and have sex with three people at once 2. go into three separate rooms in a row and have sex with three people in sequence 3. or go into one room and three people enter and leave, in sequence. All of these would attract a fair amount of attention, even at a large party. Option 2 would attract the least attention and would require the most time. I'd say it's near impossible to have this happen at a party and not have someone notice it at the time (and, since OP found out, presumably someone did notice). When someone notices, people start talking . . . and somehow this didn't make it back to OP until long after the fact? Days after, it seems? And did they leave the party together after arriving together? If they did, it would be hard to hide evidence of having sex with three partners without the benefit of being in one's own home. I'm not saying that it is impossible that they were dating, that she maliciously (but not vengefully) banged three guys in the same location as her boyfriend, in a place where there would be many witnesses, without him questioning her extended absence, without her being black out drunk, without any of his friends cluing him in at the time, and then managed to hide it from him until a few days later when someone let him know. However, that would require someone either a sociopath or a sexaholic and, quite frankly, OP sounds surprised. He wouldn't be. There would be other signs. It seems to me that the more likely scenario is that OP is feeling a little squeamish that his new girlfriend, who he probably thought was pure as the driven snow, slept with three guys in one night and possibly that, had he been more forward earlier (even earlier that same night), he might have "saved" her from such a thing. Just a hunch though.
