I am curious how many movies you were renting before...or if you guys already have netflix or something, but you insisted on renting moves from your provider anyway, which is more expensive (especially if you're already paying for netflix). Yes, marriage means you should share things and whatever, but if the husband is the only one making money, the wife should respect his spending wishes (within reason). Yes, I'm married, and my husband and I make the same amount, but even still, we consult each other when we're going to make a substantial purchase. Last year, when looking over our bills, my husband realized that I (like many others) was spending a ton of money on coffee. So, I bought a travel mug so I could bring coffee from home and buy less. He didn't make me do that, he just pointed out that I was spending a lot of money on coffee, without even realizing it. Maybe the same thing is happening with OP- are you spending way more money on movies than you think? Is your husband the one making the money, and is he having a hard time paying the bills? If so, maybe you haven't listened when he asked you to spend less, and this is his last resort so that you don't go broke. Or, maybe I'm just ranting about nothing and OP's husband is a crazy.
