Today, I found out nobody in my family wants to come to my college graduation. I spent 4 years and $60,000 to be the first person in my family to go to college, and nobody wants to see me graduate because the 4 hour ceremony is too long. FML

You didn't spend 60k on the ceremony... you spent it on the education you got, and the diploma.

Guess you get a free ticket to not go to one of their weddings, funerals, etc...!

eh, its a college graduation...they are long, uneventful, and i have to do mine on friday. I would skip it if i could

I think there just being unrespecful...

I tried to skip MY graduation. My mom wouldn't let me. It's not that big of a deal, really, but if it mean a lot to you, jut TELL them that. You can't expect them to just know that this boring four hour thing is important and other boring four hour things aren't. WANT to go i the wrong word.

60 grand for 4 years of college is really cheap, stop complaining

**** them. Congratulations!

Those ceremonies are really long and boring... but, you could ask them to a departmental graduation (if you have one)... or better yet, have an after party that they can go to!

Your family sucks. On the up side your free to live your own life without your selfish family. Congrats!

Why does everyone care? All that matters is that little piece of paper. I dont even want to walk at my own college graduation. Plus after 4 years you should be happy just to get the hell outta there.

Let them go because they want to. Having them be miserable does no one any good. You will be sitting with your fellow students anyway and will not even see them until afterwards
