Second cousin is fairly distant. It’s not incestuous the way it would be with a first cousin.

I don’t think you should have broken up with her. You didn’t grow up together, obviously. It’s not illegal in any state I’m aware of. If you had kids, your chance of birth defects isn’t much higher than unrelated ppl. To be fair, though, my husband agrees with you.

Kissing cousins is gross. the very fact that it is family, makes it morally wrong, if it isn't legally wrong. I totally get that the genetic line is not that close, but it is quite disturbing all the same. I think you did the right thing, OP.

well in my society marriage between cousins is very common. it's not consider incest. a cousin is a cousin, just another person. not your own blood.
