Today, I found out that my girlfriend of five months is pregnant. Apparently, she stopped taking her pill two months ago because "we" wanted a baby. I don't recall ever having that discussion with her. FML

what a bitch, she wanted to trap you into a relationship by getting herself knocked up. jeez, this is EVERY guys worse fear, that their girlfriend would do this. that's why you gotta wrap it up man, even If it doesn't feel as good, or ***** like this will keep you from being with the girl you really want.

That's called a keep-a-nigga-baby.

Oh? And why might it be called that? Do enlighten us.

if I understood you correctly, they wouldve been aborted...hence not alive to be upset that their parents chose abortion.

Use a condom, idiot. If you're allergic to latex, there are substitutes. The pill isn't 100% effective, and as you've found out, you can't always trust your partner to take it. Even if it's forgotten by accident. I've no sympathy for you. Yes, it sucks, but it's your fault.

the pill is the most effective form of birth control unless you are sterilised. After the first couple of months with my bf we decided not to use condoms anymore and just used the pill. No babies at all. I came off the pill and it took 8 months to get pregnant once the chemicals were out my system. It is perfectly acceptable to use just the pill or implant once you are sure of each other and know enough about each others sexual history to know there is no diseases to catch.

I never said it wasn't effective. I know people who've gotten pregnant whilst on the pill. It doesn't work the same for everyone. And it's not 100% effective. 95-99%, maybe, but not 100%. Simply relying on one form of contraception is a gamble, especially if it's the pill. My girlfriend is on the pill, but I still use condoms because I don't want to risk getting her pregnant. Both for reasons of her health and our age (she's 18, I'm 20) and she wants to go to university.

Also, it's not a case of disease. My partner and I are clean, we got tested to be 100%, and still use condoms. It's just safer that way.

YDI for not acknowledging the fact that most women are perfectly willing to sneak, lie, and backstab to get what they want. Here's hoping you learned your lesson, and are better prepared for the next time something like this happens to you. And, oh yes, there will be a next time.

Last time I checked, if you (as a guy) don't want kids, there are things you can do yourself to prevent that, and not just rely on your girlfriend being on the pill. Sorry, dude, but you kind of deserve it.

YDI for thinking you could trust something that bleeds for 7 days and doesn't die. Enjoy being married to a devious psychotic bitch.

YDI!! If u didn't want kids you should have used a condom instead of putting your trust in a girl to always take her pill. Some of the blame is on you.

birth control for a man: condom, getting snipped. birth control for a woman: pills, shots, conmdom, rods, that thing you insert, ect ect. hmmmm who has more as for the " god is mad at you for abortion thing" how do you know? did god speak to you( crazy). tell you what god said to me "abort the crumb crunchers." prove he didn't say that to me YOU CANT!

@167 and many others. Remember this the next time you decide to use the "women have been having children for hundreds of years as young as twelve years old" argument. When girls have sex too young, (12, 13, 14, 15...) it causes horrible consequences. Just because they have their period, or think that they are ready for sex, does not mean that they are ready physically to have children. Their bodies are still developing, so it causes many complications. I am working right now in a hospital in Bangladesh where many of the village women get married off as young as seven years old, as well as grew up in a family where most of the girls had children at very young ages. I can first handedly give you information about problems I have seen from girls having babies too young, as well as names, stories, and hell, if you wanted I could probably track down some surgical photos for you. Younger mothers have, on average, more babies with a low birth weight, which can cause health complications for the child. Younger women also experience higher rates of infant death than women who have children at a later age. Ex. Obstetric fistula. This is a complication that comes from too much stress during pregnancy of young girls and women who are too small. What happens is a hole tears between the bladder and the ******, causing urine to leak. No, it's not pretty. Modern medial care in first world countries does provide safer situations for birth and pregnancy, but not everything can be helped, and those that do often still require painful surgery. However, it is only recently, and in the very richest countries (USA, Canada, England, Australia...)that this medical care is available, so not the majority of people even this year. This is not even getting into the emotional and psychological consequences.
