Your life sucks. Seriously, who cares if he wants to clip his fingernails? I don't understand how that's disgusting. Some people don't even trim their fingernails, at least he is clipping them. And if I was him, I'd clip mine wherever the **** I wanted to.

It's disgusting when a fingernail flies into someone's food. There are certain things that you don't do in a restaurant; clipping your nails is one of them. It's not solely due to politeness. It's common sense. :/

Maybe i'm crazy but when i clip my fingernails with a clipper they don't fly anywhere... As long as he doesn't do anything gross with the clippings i don't see a problem. Personally i'd have clipped them at home or in the bathroom of the restaurant if i was running late. but provided he had clipped them onto a napkin, before food arrived, and then tossed it i see nothing wrong with clipping off your nails at a table...

Ha! I used to go to church with a lady who would clip her fingernails every week during communion. After months of this, the pastor asked her to stop and she left the church!

gross, i work in an office & a guy sat in our foyer once clipping his nails. i told him to go outside & do it. your story's worse, i would've left the date there & then!
