Today, I found out that when my parents said they couldn't afford gifts for us kids, what they really meant was that they weren't buying a gift for me. I found this out when I overheard my father telling my uncle about the things he got my siblings. FML

Remember parents are like gifts. As long as you have the receipt you can always trade them in for new ones .

That is horrible. There is always one child that is kicked to the side and left out.

That really sucks, you deserve better than that , everyone deserves better than that!

my parents did the same thing. give my sister and her child everything. they then spent too much money on her and had to borrow $3000 from me. instead of paying it back they bought my niece a pool.

Just remember this when the bills for the nursing home come around.

Are you the oldest? Over 18? Because if yes, stop whining.

Sometimes parents say that you won't get any presents because they believe that you will be more exited when you actually do. Does not work, always hated my mom for the disregarding tone in her voice when she said that.

I'd do it right back at him. Get stuff for your uncles and other family friends, good stuff. Get him looking forward to Christmas or his upcoming birthday. When it rolls around, tell him you "couldn't afford" anything for him.

I just commented a "revenge, OP!" comment, but come to think of it? Put them on the spot. Confront them. Ask them why they didn't get you anything but did for your siblings. Embarrass them. That will hurt worse.
