Did you know that computer station is a sacred place
Umm...can't you just replace the keyboard? Or is it a laptop?
Why can't you just replace the keyboard?
Im sorry ur stupid
Laptops have become so ubiquitous and desktops so outmoded that the default meaning of "computer" has changed. At least for many people. I do some tech support and if someone came to me with an acetone-damaged unit and told me it was dead, I wouldn't just take their word for it. I'd test each component to find out which ones worked and which ones didn't. And even if the motherboard and keyboard were both toast, on a 500 machine, it would probably be worth it to replace them. It would have to be a spectacularly well placed splash of acetone to really make the whole unit unusable. At absolute worst, you could detach the display assembly and sell it, probably for more than a hundred bucks.
I'm assuming this is a laptop?
No, no you can't ... A "few stray drops" would not do that. You did more than that.
#5: Acetone is a very thin and strong chemical, so it seeps through small spaces very fast, and does its job quick. Depending on the laptop, a few drops could kill it.
It could be a desktop - PS/2 type keyboard connectors on older/cheaper desktops are not hot-swappable because of how they connect power and signal wires at the same time. In rare cases, causing a short (even a temporary one) in one of these keyboards can cause a short in a motherboard and take out a hard drive or processor fairly easily
$500? Please, my Macbook Pro is $3000, its the best one on the Apple website. I would cry if anything happened to it.
Oooooo you spent an ungodly amount of money on a machine that does the same thing for a fraction of the price. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about Apple products but you don't see me waving a "look at me! I'm compensating for something by telling the world how much money I spent on something!" Flag around.
cool story bro. why don't you tell us how big your dick is while you're at it

And that kids is why we can't have nice things.
Kind of common sense one would think.
