If it got bad enough for her to ask him to chose, he's obviously playing it too much. I've seen so many guys let this stupid game rule their life... hello: there are REAL people in the world. When a guy neglects his girlfriend for a video game, he's wayyy too into it. Either that or the relationship wasn't that great in the first place. But personally, I am totally on board with the WoW-hating. I don't know what it is about that game that makes people completely forget about real life. Maybe they're just too lazy to get out and make their lives as interesting as their little virtual world.
Or people like you pay attention to the negative publicity or watch stupid shows like Tyra or Fox news and don't try to figure out stuff for yourself. Just because someone plays this game doesn't mean they don't have a life or they neglect people. I play but only for a couple of hours at a time when I have nothing to do and I see my friends all the time. Your argument fails.
Read above... "When a guy neglects his girlfriend for a video game, he's wayyy too into it." Good for you if you keep it balanced, but many people don't. And fyi, I'm speaking from personal experience here.
What makes people play for hours at a time are, in my opinion, the instances (or dungeons) and raids. They require you to grab a large group (5, sometimes 10) and go deep into a dungeon. Even the smallest dungeons require planning and can take time to do. You didn't wanna take a break because then the group would be held back. Back when I played WoW, I only did them if I had a large amount of spare time. WoW is sort of like chocolate; it's nice to eat it, but too much makes you fat/sick/pimply.
All depends on the circumstance in which this is set. If it is something you have discussed with him before and have gotten no where with, than you did what you had to do. If it isn't than you went about this the wrong way. Just by personal observation though, these stories are becoming more and more common among the ever growing gamer population after the world.
I'd kick his ass
Ok, guys, here's a newsflash for you: if you want to play some World of Warcraft, fine. Go right ahead. Some of us might even play with you for a bit. But if you're spending twenty hours a day on the game, blowing us off for raids, and forgetting dates, then don't expect us to put up with it. My best friend's idiotic ex would constantly ignore her, stop doing things with her, and yell at her for interrupting his gaming sessions. And then the dumbass acted surprised when she finally dumped him.
Wow. Bad move on your part, YDI. My fiancee is into WoW and when we first got together it drove me crazy. But you have to talk to people about shit. Not just say it's me or the game. Then they're going to resent you. Use your brain, chick. Now he plays less and I even got into the game. Everything in moderation :P Oh and to those of you that said only nerds play WoW; I bet you we're two of the hottest people you'll ever see, lol. Nerds are way cool. But anyways, sucks for you chick. Learn how to deal with people better. COMPROMISE. :)
My bf used to play WoW wayyyyyyy way way too much. He'd be up all night playing and then be too tired to stick with the plans we made for the next day. It was RIDICULOUS. I eventually left him a long message (bc he was too busy playing to talk at the time) saying he needs to let up on it a little. I didn't ask him to stop completely, just cut back on the amount he was playing. I would play but I think I'd get bored of it after a while, and I don't wanna spend money on something I'd just lose interest in. :/
Btw, you should have seduced him. Male Hormones>videogames. That is why girls practically run guys! If that doesnt work, you are ugly or he is gay!

Girls need to stop giving guys ultimatums. Why can't we have both?
Lemme guess...you never banged him???
