Funny how most of you wanna call a lawyer right away. Maybe the dude didn't do his job right. Maybe it was just an easy way of letting him go instead of telling him the real reasons. Calling a lawyer is BS for this situation
If that's the reason the actually have he still has a legal grounding for (at least) unfair dismissal
I agree with #44; if their official reason for firing OP is because of visible tattoo, when no tattoo actually exists, that's grounds for unfair dismissal at the very least. If OP wasn't doing his job right then the termination should be in line with 'failure to perform tasks required of the role on a consistent and prolonged basis' and gone from there; they shot themselves in the foot by going with something OP can easily disprove.
How does no one on this site seem to know about their rights?? The law can be on your side you know
I say sue them
Wow. That sucks op. I hope you find a better job!
Imagine the Yahoo song! LAW SUUUUUU-UUUUUUUIT!
At least the surgery was free and seems like it worked
We'll fight it. Don't let the stupid morons kick you out of your job. Good luck on getting reinstated and hopefully you can claim some compensatory damages due to their stupidity.
Lawyer up!
Don't usually advise this but SUE!!!

How can they possibly be dumb enough to mistake that for a tattoo? Even if they had a rule, your boss had no right to fire you for a surgical scar. If you have to, you can sue for wrongful termination.
That's not right, OP. That's a wrongful termination. You can obviously prove it's a scar rather than a tattoo. Depending on where you live, you should fight it!!
