Today, I got fired from my job. When I asked why, all that was said to me was, "We don't have to disclose that information, but you did nothing wrong. It's just not working out." FML

It's not you, OP, it's them. I hope you and the company can remain friends at least. However, they didn't deserve you and were probably employing other people behind your back.

I know what it feels like, it's so unfair.

Actually unions can fire you and not tell you why. My dad's Union is the same way. It sucks but it's legal.

Actually even in at will states i believe you can sue if the temination was unlawful...like for tave or religion or you know the others. I know who can help you find out in OK.

Get over it. Wrongful termination? Nobody owes you a job. If you're not working out then you need a job you're good at and they need a better employee. It's a win win for you both

I know this isn't in Canada, but in Ontario you can be fired for any reason; HOWEVER, they have to pay you in lieu of notice. Normally, your employer will try to avoid giving you any reason at all as if they say the wrong thing you could then take it to a lawyer for wrongful termination.

There are rare instances where you can. Example: a woman I worked with was fired while on FMLA. She sued and was given her job back. However, the company treated her pretty bad after she came back. I'm not sure I would have wanted to through the crap she did when she returned.

Bring them some roses, play romantic music, maybe even take them out to dinner and apologize. They just might take you back, OP! *sarcasm*

"You did nothing wrong, but also we don't want you to be here." Seems reasonable. (Insert sarcasm here.)

On the bright side now you can find a job where the people and managers will probably be much much better.

that happened to me with Whitaker construction in northern utah.

isn't it illegal to fire someone without telling them why?

not in Oklahoma because its an at will state. usually you sign a disclosure saying you understand this and know that they can fire you without having any reasoning just like you do have to have reasoning to quit or give a two week notice

I see its from Oklahoma. its an at will state op they dont need a reason they can just fire you at any given moment. good luck with a new job.
