Today, I got in an argument with my teacher for always comparing me to my sister that she had a few years before. After I said, "I'm not my sister so please stop comparing me to her," she responded, "Of course you're not your sister, I actually like your sister." FML

Wow, are they even allowed to say that? What an asshole.

I bet your sister wouldn't have posted an FML about this.

You can say to your teacher "The ones who can't do teach" that means she or he couldn't become or do shit in their life and now they're a teacher. But if I were you I'd drop the class and or report to the principal and get them fired and or suspended. It's possible if you pretend to be very offended hurt etc... Good luck

Fired?? Are you kidding!? #1- what the teacher said was rude, but probably meant with a tinge of humor that OP didn't pick up on..... #2 That is Definitely not grounds to fire. Especially if the teachers tenured.

Oh...and "pretend" you're offended and hurt to get someone fired/suspended!?? Reeeeeally!?? So.... You would actually condone ruining someone's life over pretending...PRETENDING.... to be butthurt!?? *sideways stare*

As long as your last name isn't kardashian, I'm sure the comparisons will stop eventually. Until then, good luck.

Ugh, I totally feel your pain. Getting compared to your older sister sucks. It's why I like meeting people who haven't met her first, so I'm not constantly in her shadow. Sorry your teacher said that though, she sounds mean.

Wow ): I'm so sorry, OP. That was completely unprofessional of your teacher. You are unique, there is only one of you. I hope you report that teacher to the principal. Good luck.

That was really uncalled for. I can't ever imagine my teachers doing that, because they know it's wrong. Maybe you could ask to switch classes? That's if you can...

Annoying, yes. But really..... If this gets you so upset that you need to FML it, the real world is going to be a rude awakening. Learn to let go of the small things. Makes life a lot happier :)

And just let another person completely disrespect you? Yeah, no thanks. Listen I don't like to hold on to things, either. But if you had a teacher who outright called you out on being the worse sibling, you'd be offended, too. And people always ******* say "life isn't easy, the real world isn't easy". No shit, but you forget that you are living life. This is life and just because it's hard doesn't mean a kid can't say anything about it.

Why should anyone compare you to your sister

It's annoying yes, but it happens. I had a teacher that told everyone she failed a student for missing the final. Reason she missed it? Funeral and the father called from the funeral home to complain. Which sucks, but the student was failing anyway. We don't know whether or or not OP is a good student. They might be always late to class for all we know. Teachers don't usually takes sides and most complaints are the student expecting something unreasonable the few that are legit sometimes it's hard to pick out.

Well to be fair, the student knew that the funeral and the final would overlap at least a day or two in advance and could've talked to the teacher (or the principal if the teacher wouldn't budge) about what could be done. If she simply didn't show up, I would've failed her as well. Telling a student you don't like them and constantly comparing them to a sibling is simply unprofessional. I know teachers are human and can't help having favorites, but you're not actually supposed to TELL them.

#26, I really respect your opinion as its coming from a good place. I would like to say that I arrive on time with my stuff ready everyday. Thank you for the comment :)

That didn't go as planned...but I think she was hoping to used that statement and well she just did... I am sure there is a simpler way to get at what I am saying but my mind is a little out of it...
