If you didn't get a chance to consummate your marriage then you can annul it most likely. If not then, urm, happy honeymoon? I'm sorry OP :( I hope your family are supportive of you during this hard time, at least
Where is the YDI button when you need it?
Honestly it sounds like you've been pretty absent minded in the relationship if he's the type of guy to do this and you didn't pick up on it in the slightest. Next time take your time so you actually know the person you're about to pledge yourself to. Ydi.
Did OP's family not say why to not marry him? That's the only reason I can think of as why OP would still marry him without even looking into it. I can understand following through without looking into him if the only reason they gave was "I don't like him," or "He just gives me a bad feeling." Either way, this really sucks, and I would suggest looking into if you CAN get the marriage annulled, before you get wrapped up in his legal and social trouble causing.
you deserved it!

Well good news is, since he got drunk enough on your special day, to be put in jail before you consummated your marriage, you could probably get it annulled quite easily... If he's lied to you about his legal troubles before he's probably not gonna stop any time soon OP. Best of luck to you.
I guess your family had a pretty valid reason for you not to marry him
