Hi guys, OP here. Some background info- The guy who yelled at me is only here 80% of the week, and he's not the boss I report to. He just thinks he is, and how he behaved was unacceptable.(He's trying to make the office his own show, but it's not working.) The boss of my division wasn't happy about how he handled things, so he was definitely in the wrong. My co workers are defending me, and this wasn't my fault since it's not my responsibility. I'm a receptionist, not an office manager. If they don't want to sign in- he should be yelling at THEM and not me.

We've had similar problems with workers not signing log at one of our sites. fixed it by putting up a big sign saying if you don't sign in you don't get paid and following through with it.

If it's your job, then find a way to compel them to sign the log. I work in construction, and if the guys don't clock in or whatever we need them to do in the morning, then they get no vehicle keys or work orders. And if they don't get their work done or they're short on hours because they screwed around, then it's their ass, not mine or anyone else in the office.
Well at least they are standing up for you against a man on a power trip! Hope it gets better OP!
