Today, I had a substitute teacher for my dance class. I noticed at one point, he took out a camera. The principal came in, everyone was going crazy, and the teacher was dragged out of the classroom. He was taking videos and pictures of us dancing. Turns out he was a registered sex offender. FML

this sort of sounds like you go to my school, there was a substitute hired to sub for the classes my PAL teacher taught, which include dance and three classes of PAL (since my high school is just a regular one, we can have teachers sub for dance). he started filming the girls dancing. he was not a sex offender, just a really, really big creep.

school boards dont have access to the sex offender registry...this is definately an example of why they should!

Ha at 58 and 73 Dress and age matter too much to say much about it. 16 year olds dressed in leotards or some other non-family dress is a problem, 18+ in own clothes is no big deal, just pervy. Oh well.. OPs rarely post back, this one hasn't.

SHIT that's ****** up. Your school must be pretty messed up in the head if they don't do background checks on people they are allowing to come in and supervise KIDS. GOD. WHY IS THE COMMON SENSE GONE?

okay...I seriously doubt it. The substitutes have to be approved by the school board to be a substitute. Not to mention that when a sex offender gets a job they have to update the registry and let the state in which the crime was committed know where they work and where they live. Good try though. I have crossed paths with sex offenders and I have been notified as to the rights, restrictions and regulations of a sex offender. They hardly ever get lost in the system to the point where it would put the community involved at risk.

You know, there are some cases of sex offenders in schools and get caught later on. My former high school for instance (poor funded school, at that). The band director had a police record for sleeping with an underaged girl while in college. It caught up to him after the fact he slept with a student. Some school's are lazy like that. It was like, "Oh snap! He was a registered sex offender and we failed to screen him. Our bad." But I do smell a little bull because when the staff found out, there was a helicopter and there were a dozen cop cars all around the school building. Scary, I tell you. But to the OP, FYL, seriously. It's a shame and it's happening everyday, sadly. =/
