Today, I had my wisdom teeth pulled. I woke up right as the dentist pulled my last tooth. FML

OP here. I was awake for about 2 minutes before they knocked me out again. My tooth actually broke on the way out so I heard the dentist debate with his staff whether or not he should just leave the root in. The dentist is a cool guy and even offered to buy me lunch sometime.

Same thing happened to me. The feeling of having your tooth ripped out and you can't do anything but lay there paralyzed is absolutely horrible. I had nightmares for days.

I had mine pulled last month. Not fun. They better have given you more morphine!

They don't generally give morphine for wisdom teeth extraction.

They gave it to me, due to the local not working in my bottom left tooth after an soild 45 mins of trying. They just had rip it out and gave me some morphine. It was lovely after that :P

At least it was the last one and right as he pulled it. You'll be enjoying the lortab that much more.

It's a good thing that you could wake up from the anesthesia, BUT it looks like you needed a larger dosage of it! Sorry to hear about it OP! :(

Try having two wisdom teeth pulled with only your mouth numbed and laughing gas. You're awake the whole time and can feel the pressure and hear everything.

Been there done that, but with all 4. And 2 were still imbedded. I was on so much pain meds afterwards, I just laid on my bed with a towel under my head because I could not stop drooling and bleeding. My mom would come in to check on me. I'd hear what she said, I just couldn't respond with anything more than a "uuugghhhhh".

I had mine pulled when I was in the Army. They basically gave me a shot of Novocaine which I was adamant wouldn't work because it never really has before. Dentist came at me with pliers and got hold of the tooth and started to pull and wiggle the way they do then looked at me in amazement when I screamed and punched him in the eye. I was on the gas two minutes later and out they came with no trouble and no muss and fuss from me. When I went back two weeks later to get the other two pulled you can be damned sure they gassed the shit out of me. On the plus side, there's not very many reasonable excuses to punch an officer.

Oh my gosh, I had 4 baby teeth removed to make room for braces (because apparently the "adult" version of those certain teeth are smaller...), and I can totally relate to this. The sounds were disgusting. And the shot didn't work 100% on the last tooth. The pain wasn't horrific, but it was enough to make me freak out a bit because I thought the shot didn't work at all, at the time.

Yeah, I was awake the whole time for mine. Only enough anesthesia to remove the pain but not to knock me out.

I only had freezing when they took mine out, one was still attached to my jawbone and the dentist had to crack it off *shiver*

Offered to buy you lunch, you say? Sounds like you have another situation on your hands! :)
