Today, I had to cancel all of the plans to go away on a romantic weekend with my boyfriend. My parents are going out of town for a night and I have to stay home a babysit my little sister. She's 19. FML

Today, it was supposed to be date night but my sister's husband was taken to hospital, so I agreed to to babysit my nieces. My boyfriend went out drinking by himself because, “it’s not his fault I have nieces and can’t say no to my sister, so why should his night be ruined?” FML

Today, to celebrate my older sister's 21st birthday, my parents forced me to take the night off work so we could all go to the casino. Not only is this coming out of my vacation, I wasn't old enough to enter the casino, so I had to sit in the car. FML

Today, I went over to confront my parents about how my siblings always get to visit and all I do when I’m over is work on their house or take care of grandma. My mom was very upset. Then she snuck out with my sister, leaving me to take care of grandma until she got back. FML

Today, it was our first kid-free weekend in almost two months, and I was hoping for a nice date night. Instead, she picked up two shifts at work and then had a girls' night. Don't worry, she assigned me a massive deep clean that ate up almost my entire weekend. FML

Today, my fiancé left to take care of his little sister who lives alone and recently got COVID-19. To be cautious, he will remain there for weeks until he tests negative. Feeling lonely, I texted my mom for comfort. She immediately canceled our engagement party this summer instead. FML

Today, I got a call from a girl I know, asking if I could babysit her little brother at my house tonight. I said yes. When the boy came over, he mentioned that his sister was having a party and didn't want him there. Turns out all my friends were invited except me. FML

Today, my sister and I were planning a trip to get away from things and visit some faraway friends. My dad then decided to insert himself into our plans. He got mad when we said no, and couldn't understand why we wanted to go by ourselves. FML

Yes, follow everyone's advice and tell your parents no so they can kick you out. It's a brilliant plan conceived by thoughtful people. Your parents will no longer be able to use their ownership of the house to control you and you'll be free to pay for your own place, grow up, and do as you please. YDI

I'm presuming by the fact you've posted this on FML, your sister isn't special needs, so FYL. However, if she is, then still, FYL. If your parents knew about the weekend you had planned, then they more than likely did this to stop you from going out. Whilst people are saying YDI if she's mentally handicapped, it's still a FYL because your parents are clearly the selfish ones.

I feel your pain... After my boyfriend and I had bought our house and moved out of our parents houses, his mother tried to make him come back home for a week to baby sit his 23 year old brother. Who is not special needs at all. I can't tell you how many weekends and trips were cancelled before we moved out, because he had to "babysit" or he would have been thrown out...
