Today, I had to change my mobile number because I was getting abuse from a guy, so I sent my new number to all of the people on my contact list. Including him. FML

Today, my mother shared my phone number with my brother, despite my explicit wishes that she didn't. He immediately went and put it on Craigslist and several other websites. This is the fourth time I've had to change my number for that very same reason. FML

Today, I gave my phone number to a guy at the movie theatre. I was excited to receive a text a few minutes later, sure enough when I unlocked my phone I had received a message from an unknown number. It was his girlfriend. FML

OP probably did not delete his number, in case he gets ahold of her new number somehow one day so that she can not answer it in case he calls. Kind of like keeping tabs. I kept the number of my stalker just in case. I mean, YDI, OP, for not double checking everyone you're contacting. I am so paranoid about that kind of shit, I triple check things before I send them. But FYL for that happening. If you changed your number without giving out your number to your banks, work, etc., I would just re-change your number.

I don't want to be an a-hole I mean props for getting out of an abusive relationship its not easy to do, I agree you probably kept the number so if they tried to get a hold of you you would know it was them. Still you should have been more careful.
