Today, I had to explain to my son that his dad was too busy in a raid on World of Warcraft to be at his award ceremony. FML

a man who loves WoW more than family shouldn't have one to begin with.

I have the same problem with my mom. she played the game through most of my 16th birthday party even with 59 guests there.

For the Horde ! our son loves to watch his dad and i play ... but hell if i'd let him get into Naxx if we had something to do that day !

What kind of an award ceremony was it? Was it something important and/or rare, or was it the 50th bronze medal for jumping in a sand box or throwing a metal ball? Or is WoW the problem here? Would it be as bad if he was out drinking with his buddies or at a company bowling night? I think most people here agree that kids should come first if you're a parent. That, however, doesn't mean you have to give up your hobbies entirely. All work and no play and so forth..

for your son's sake learn how to be a dad it's just a game versus your child's life I'm sure he wanted you to be there way to go
