Did you not think to talk to the kid about it, instead of punishing him? It's not like at that age he understands social ettiquette - you could have explained that he should only do that in private because it's not for anyone else to see, or you could have asked why he picked that moment to do it to see if it was a cause for concern (eg. out of stress/anger/because he's been exposed to this kind of thing by adults), like a proper teacher would. Did you even tell his parents? Behaviour like that when in excess or in public can occasionally signify that the kid is being abused. 99% chance he isn't, but what if he is, and to save yourself mild embarassment you let him slip through your fingers? YDI.

Is that humanly possible I think we got a chuck Norris baby here

That kids gonna have the Lobito of an 80 year old man when he grows up. Ed is what I'm saying.

It is perfectly normal for children to explore their body parts. Making them feel bad for doing so is unhealthy for them. You should explain to the child that he/she can't do that there and make the parent's aware of what they are doing so they can handle it.

Why is society so quick to punish a child for doing something that they don't know is wrong. I can understand if the OP talked to the child before about this before and the child continued, but going by what was posted she didn't.

The kid was probably given a timeout for not going to sleep during nap-time. I remember my nephew getting in trouble for things like that when he was in preschool.. And anyway, I highly doubt he's scarred for life. He'll forget about it by dinner time.
