Today, I have a UTI. After taking some sample medicine my doctor gave to me, I had a lot of back pain and nausea. I also spent 6 hours in the ER with no health insurance because I thought I was urinating blood. Nope, "peeing red" is just a little side-effect my doctor forgot to inform me of. FML

You do realize that you're supposed to read the side effects part right ..... The doctor should assume that you have a brain and can read.

wouldn't you have been able to smell the difference?

your urine will be positive for blood with a UTI, read more

Again, I feel for you American's who have to take medicine that stains your pee In the UK, we have to take one pill for 3 days, and then it's gone. No major side effects. And as for the US healthcare switching to one like the UK's, I do not agree, since when my aunt was over there and broke her arm, she recieved the best healthcare, even though in the UK she would have been treated immediatly, she said that she couldn't fault the service at all.

We don't have to take it as meds against a UTI. It's simply the painkiller they prescribe, but it isn't the antibiotic. no big deal, really, except it makes you feel high at work. but something that can stop the kind of pain of a uti...needs to make you high.

I understand the pain, except mine wasn't blood it was a nasty infection caused by the dr not putting the device in properly. I was in antagonizing pain for about a week before they figured out was wrong.

Why didn't you just read the effects on the side of the bottle?

doctors always forget to tell you something :/

You should've put a Q-Tip soaked in hydrogen peroxide in it, and if it doesn't sizzle; you're all good.
