What i meant to say in #10 is did you catch him or did he run away
#11 ew, I don't keep my bike inside. The wheels can get dog poop or mud or something on them, I don't want that in my house. And the OP put a lock on their bike at least, it's not their fault some dude used an angle grinder o_o

I use a pair of shackles as a bike lock...you can cut it off, theoretically, but to actually remove it from the bike, you'd have to do significant damage (lock it tight)
...uhm...if you ignored the "saw" and went back to sleep, then how aqre you so certian after the fact that it's an angle grinder if you didn't see it...?

ALWAYS check these things!! Even if it was the maintenance man, you could have just said hi and such, just to make sure it was really him. You deserved this one. You had the opportunity to prevent your bike from being stolen.
