Today, I heard my mother say, "I feel bad for any girl that marries him because he's, what's the word? Metrosexual!" To my girlfriend. About me. FML

Hey guys! OP here to shed light on the situation. Homecoming is this weekend and my girlfriend, mother and I were out getting the final vest and tie to finish off my attire, so I can match my girlfriend's dress. Then my mom said that. She isn't ignorant, a bigot, or anything of the sort. She was joking around and said it proudly. She went on to say that "if you're in the store buying face cream to stay smooth or whatever it is, he's right there with you to look good too" Which has an element of truth in it. I try to look good and keep myself hygienic and it pays off. It's also a bit of curiosity to be honest too! There's so many things for girls!! Anyway, my girlfriend laughed with her, and yes that's probably one of the reasons she's with me. Hope you all enjoyed!

Hey, it means you probably dress nice and take care of yourself, what girl doesn't like that? Your mom sounds ridiculous!

As long as your girlfriend loves you, forget what she has to say! There's nothing wrong with that. Head up, OP!

Being metrosexual really isn't that bad it just means you keep yourself together and you like to look nice . What wrong with that?

I bet OP is the brother of the girl whose dad also thinks women shouldn't go to university. OPs' parents have crazy sexiest opinions. Men have to be bread-winning slobs so the women can stay home and take care of them.

ignore what people say about your relationship. what matters is that you two are together

Here you go... a young, urban, heterosexual male with liberal political views, an interest in fashion, and a refined sense of taste.

It's where you're attracted to city buses

I'm sorry 23, and the rest of you, but what in the **** does the word "sexual" have to do with anything in there? I feel like nothing listed there has anything to do with any gender, and yet it seems to be treated as such. I feel like too much stuff gets made up these days....

#49, that went way over your head, didn't it?

#49 the term metrosexual was created to categorize the heterosexual (oh there's that word sexual again!) male who precisely grooms himself, dresses fashionably, and enjoys the finer things in life to separate them from the homosexual (geez that darn word sexual just keeps popping up) males and females who until that point were socially considered the only ones who took pride and care in their appearance. Hope that helped clear things up! Sexual.

The better question here is: What is Google?

You two would be amazing at jeopardy! Omg we should play sometime!! What is play date? :) haha

I first took my BF with me to the spa and now he's hooked on pedis and hot rock massages! Won't do the chest waxing again (too painful) but does trim ALL his body hairs down to the lowest level on the beard trimmer/or shaves. Colour coordinate all his outfits from his shoes to his watches! Nothing wrong with caring about your appearance. I'm sure OP's girlfriend will take what the mom said with a grain of salt. And maybe the mom will never understand that it's not uncommon anymore.

Obviously his girlfriend likes him for who he is...moms are ridiculous sometimes!

I feel you. My dad makes fun of me all the time.

That's just beyond rude...like not even comprehensible how awful that is...

That's harsh but don't sweat it there is nothing wrong with that.
