Just know that not all parents are so uptight. I am the mother of two boys. They were taught that sex is a big deal and carries with it certain responsibilities. I always made sure they had condoms and knew how important safe sex was. I knew they were sexually active and I didn't make them feel embarrassed about it. Nor did I shame them for masturbating. They are adults now and we had no unwanted teenage pregnancies. Older one is 28, in a long term relationship and raising the two kids they have together plus his step kids. The younger one still has no kids at 20 years old. Being ultra controlling of your kids' sexuality doesn't prevent them from having sex. It just prevents them from feeling they can come to you if they get into a bad situation.
