Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my parents. After she left, they told me they disapprove of her because of her supposedly lower social class. Now I have to either dump her or lose the money they set aside to pay for my university tuition. FML

Keep her. Pay for your own college. Earn your big boy pants. [and get laid!]

Last time I checked, love wasn't a decision your parents made for you. It's not something to wager, either. Get a job and pay for the college and keep her; that'll show them.

Because university is incredibly affordable and all high school relationships are true love, right?

Just because most relationships from high school don't work out, doesn't mean they never do. You can't not attempt a relationship just because everyone tells you it's destined to fail. I have a teacher that had been together with her husband since they were 14 and now theyre like 40 something. It can happen. It's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all, right? I think he should stand up to his parents no matter their ultimatum. They can't think they control every aspect of his life; he's going to college and a man now. He needs to try to get them to understand that he makes his own choices

Why can't a high school relationship be true love? There's no certain age where you can feel true love. It's not age, it's the person you're with. Maybe you haven't found anyone, or have been lucky enough to get in a relationship in high school, but trust me, it can happen.

It's appalling that people in this day and age can still think that way. FYL, but my advice is to accede to their wishes...but still see her behind their back, if that'll work.

Aww! So sorry! Unfortunately, (unless youre like IN LOVE with her) I'd say you should take the university tuition. You'll end up resenting her if you don't get the money.

I'd choose the education because there's more that will come unless you really feel in your heart that she's the one the go for it and try to get into a cheaper college but remember girls come and go

If you see something between you and the girl explain it to her and keep her in your life secretly. But I would bend for your parents in this, go to college but explain to them this is the last time they get to pull something like this. They do it again then to Hell with the consequences. If you don't say this they'll always pull this stunt and know it works. I just say bend now cause you need that education and you never said you "loved" the girl.

Not hard...tell them you dumped her, and then don't. You're a teenager. Lying is like second nature to you.

There are plenty of fish in the sea. Dump her and go to college chances are you wot wind up with her anyway.

Break up I had a friend whose Indian parents diss approved of her dating my brother in law, long story short they broke up anyways and now she has nothing
