Squirrels are tenacious little bastards. My campus had a very strict "no feeding the squirrels" policy because they started chewing through window screens to get into student apartments and raid their kitchens.

In Michigan, we learned years ago to never feed animals. The only ones stupid enough to do that are either tourists or drunk people.
