I always thought it was too
"Prima Donna first lady of the stage"
I love Phantom <3
It's the only reason I knew the real spelling! *originally in my first comment but for some reason FML glitched and only put the first sentence
It's the only reason that I knew the real spelling *originally in my comment but FML glitched (like always) and only posted the first sentence
I had been guilty of this until I googled it. It made a whole lot more sense once I found out hehe.
and people are wondering why the downfall of Western Society is happening so fast. This FML right here is a reason why! If someone can't tell the difference between Prima Donna and Pre-Madonna it is TIME FOR SERIOUS EDUCATION REFORM IN THE USA. I WEEP FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
Everyone has gaps in their knowledge. Everyone, including you.
...I'm guessing you've never seen "The Phantom of the Opera", then
Everyone has gaps in the knowledge. Everyone. Learn and move on. When you stumbled upon o. of your family members gap remember what you felt like and be kind. You actually learned 2 things that day. Good luck Op.
It's not? Well shit, I've been saying it wrong for 25+ years then!
Well yeah... I mean that's both ridiculous and funny. Who doesn't know what "Prima Donna" is? Have you never read a book, journal or article; never seen a movie, television show or documentary, that stated that term at least once, in such a way to indicate the meaning of the term?
You can know the meaning of a word/phrase without knowing how to spell it correctly.
OP isn't necessarily saying they didn't know the definition. Just the way it was spelled. I made the same mistake with the phrase until just a couple years ago too.

well... I just learned something new too. The more you know!
If that's the dumbest thing that you do, you'll be alright
