Today, I lent my sister $1000 because she and her husband were in some debt. They used the money to go gambling in Vegas and won a major jackpot. They won't even give me a cut. FML

I'd demand the $1000 back immediately!

1. Find compromising information about them 2. Print it and Put in mailbox 3. ???? 4. Get some $$$

That's stupid. You should at least get back the money you "lent" them.

I see key word "lent" not "gave" I do not think they understand the concept of lent

Whenever you find money at their house take it.

You shouldn't get a cut of it. They took the risk, not you. You are entitled to your $1000 back, but no more. If they had lost it at the casinos, would you have shouldered some of that loss?

I would have gone there a bear yhe shit out of her

Wait a while, the sister will waste the money and be in worse condition later. I've seen it again and again, if you've not had any time to change and did not work to change, you will do the same thing again and again. Look up poor lottery winners, most end up broke or worse than before.

What ever happened to doing nice things for loved ones without hanging it over then when they have some good luck. I feel bad this happened, but move on

Unless you had a verbal or physical contract that states that they HAVE TO pay you back then they owe you nothing OP.

If they returned the $1000, that's all they owed you. Sucks, but that's life. Just refuse to loan them any more in the future, because while they got lucky once, it was terribly irresponsible to gamble debt money.
